Lingo

June 28, 2019 by Frendy Lemorin in Music

When three young gunners hop in the booth, fire always ensues. West London’s very own Jevon capped off an outstanding 2018 with a rejuvenating single entitled, “Blossomed/Mercy,” which celebrates a fresh start in his promising music career. With a polished slate, the 24-year-old polymath kicked off the new year in high gear with a banger, assisted by UK-based Nigerian spitter Kida Kudz and Diggy.

“Lingo,” produced by Jevon himself, showcases how three distinct flows can co-exist in one scorching, afrobeat-influenced track. “The idea of the song came from us teaching each other our ways of saying stuff—each other's lingo—as we're all from different places: Diggy from NYC; Kida from Lagos; and me, from London. Three artists from different backgrounds and continents working collectively on a vision,” says Jevon to Complex.

Fittingly, Lingo’s accompanying visual was shot in London and The Big Apple. Check it out below:

Anchors

February 04, 2019 by Frendy Lemorin in Music

The heir of Hip Hop royalty Diggy has just unleashed the visual for the sixth track off his commendable comeback project, Lighten up.

Aptly titled “Anchors,” not only is Diggy dropping gems on this record, the former Jetsetter is jack-hammering bars that might get your girl wetter than a whirlpool in Vegas.  “ We put anchors on the blessings so they can’t leave us/walking overseas but I ain’t Jesus/ tryinna spit me game, I spit it back, ‘cause I ain’t need it/ you should give it to them youngins that be hungry with our same features,” raps Diggy on its first verse.  He then heats things up with: “you wanna kill me, better dig deeper/ she whispered in my ear she wanted Dig deeper (and I did do it)/ If I dig deeper I might hit yo’ heart/ baby we so far apart, tryinna force it isn’t smart.”

The single’s video, shot by HDtayfilms, sees the dapper young spitter in his usual spiffy threads in an array of locations complimenting his retro attire and hard-hitting lyrics.

It Is What It Is

August 03, 2018 by Frendy Lemorin in Music

The homie Diggy has just unleashed his first official single in a whopping six years!  A few articles ago, I mentioned that the multitalented 23-year-old rapper was gearing up to deliver some brand new sounds and he absolutely stayed true to his words.

Titled "It Is What It Is," (I bet you said that in your Drake voice), the uplifting track is minimalistic perfection featuring only a choir and violins.  When a lyricist is spitting fiery bars with a positive message an elaborate beat is optional.

Check out the tune's captivating visual below:
