Kendrick Lamar, Dave Meyers & the little homies are steamrolling the competition in Hip Hop's music video realm. Their latest collaborative effort is a cinematic visual counterpart to K. Dot's DAMN stand-out, "Loyalty," featuring arguably the Queen of Pop, Rihanna.
Check out the "cheeky" clip below (you'll get what I mean in a sec):
Right on the heels of a legendary performance at Coachella, Kendrick Lamar's rap alter ego, Kung Fu Kenny, makes an epic return in the new music video for his blood-pumping single, "DNA."
Directed by Nabil and The Little Homies, the clip finds a dazed and handcuffed Kenny in a sketchy interrogation room, where the one and only Don Cheadle begins to put him through a lie detector test. Things go "wrong" when the procedure actually begins! Don is mysteriously caught in a trance rapping Kenny's bars back and forth with him. Eventually, Detective Cheadle unlocks the handcuffs of Lamar's character with ease only to be killed shortly after by Kenny's lethal whisper.
In true marketing genius fashion, Travis Scott has finally allowed Youtube to showcase his music video for "Goosebumps," at the same time that King "DAMN." Kendrick (who's featured on the record) releases his highly anticipated fourth studio album.
"Damn!" was probably the first word that came out of your mouth when you realized Kendrick Lamar wasn't going to drop his highly anticipated project last Friday. Well, its pretty ironic that the west coast emcee used the exact expression of anger to name his fourth studio album!
Releasing this Friday, DAMN. is loaded with 14 tracks and only 2 features (Rihanna and legendary rock band U2). Meanwhile on the production end, a slew of heavy hitters have contributed including Mike-Will Made It, The Alchemist, DJ Dahi, Sounwave, Cardo, and more.
While you're patiently waiting for the sonic compilation to finally bless your eardrums, check out the eye-catching visual of Kendrick's high-charting lead single, "Humble" below:
On December 17th, the music industry's most shining star held a special event in collaboration with VEVOat the LA HangarStudios, where he performed scorching cuts from his recently released billboard-topping album.
Check out The Weeknd's flashy live performance of "Sidewalks," my favorite single off of Starboy, with a surprise appearance from Kendrick Lamar below:
For those on the East coast who never experienced Coachella, here comes the next best thing!
The company who created the famed Indio, California music festival has conjured up a brand new sonic fest coined Panorama, that will be held from July 22 through the 24th at Randall's Island. There are a slew of huge musical events that take place in New York but the fact that this one is delegated by Coachella's cream of the crop execs makes it a bit more enticing.
Awesome acts are scheduled to perform at Panorama including FKA Twigs, Blood Orange, A$AP Rocky and even King Kunta himself Kendrick Lamar who's serving as one of the festival's three headliners.
Man oh man, the artist formerly known as Lil' Bow Wow, is getting roasted for his slight mishaps while preshow hosting the 2016 Grammy Awardslast night onCBS.
I'm just here to state, let Shad Moss live. I feel for the CSI Cyber actor because during my very first time moderating a live show, I also bombed! Acting and Hosting are two different aesthetics -- one deals with memorized lines, while the other is based off actions from the energy pulsating in REAL time. All of the preparation before a live show means nothing against the heat of the moment.
I can't lie though, Shad isn't entirely new to hosting. For numerous years, he was the face of BET's famed 106th & Park Hip Hop countdown show. The atrocity that occured last night was purely due to bad timing....and maybe a bit of intoxication on Bow's end (haha).
Fans across the globe were holding their breath in anticipation of Kanye West releasing the second tune from his rebooted G.O.O.D Friday music series. All of their patience (including mines) were to no avail, as Mr. West seemingly forgot to upload the song on to soundcloud (I mean he did have a bit of difficulty loading his initial jam).
Fortunately, during this morning's 'sunglasses and advil' hours, Yeezus surprisingly delivered "No More Parties In LA", fittingly featuring Rap's current westside lyrical king Kendrick Lamar. The song was presented as a mere snippet two Fridays ago, but now we finally get to fully indulge in all of it's glory.
Short is an understatement for this film but it’s content speaks volumes.
11-time Grammy-nominated artist Kendrick Lamar teamed up with legendary music video director Dave Meyers and Little Homies to present a captivating clip of glory rightfully titled Hard Work.
I’m no Kendrick but what happened to him in the movie sort of reminds me of my dealings in SoHo. The love is always in abundance whenever someone recognizes me there, now I just got to work on being rich (haha).
Like a super-mutant hawk, Kendrick Lamar swoops down from the ominous skies to deliver a heartfelt banger titled "The Blacker The Berry" that'll have fellow spitters scrambling back into their bandos! The TDE ring leader released the potent tune on the heels of officially winning the Best Rap PerformanceGrammy award for his previously released single "i". Just in the nick of time right?
No clue on when K. Dot will drop his much anticipated second studio album but for now indulge in the Boi-1da and Terrace Martin produced jam below:
Chris Brown's latest studio albumX had so many pre-released scorching singles that it almost felt like a sing-a-long! Most of the songs featured everyone already knew but the few that were fresh to our ears were equally potent.
The superstar Virginian crooner just unleashed the corresponding visual to his latest scorching ballad titled "Autumn Leaves" featuring Rap god Kendrick Lamar. Indulge in it below:
